Buffer Day
Reach Manali by afternoon, check into your respective hotels. Freshen up and rest. Meet in the evening for the orientation cum briefing of the expedition. Finish all the necessary documentation. Check your climbing gears (mainly climbing shoes) which will be provided by us. Explore the famous Mall Road od Manali, finish up your essential item purchase for the expedition, if you have to. Enjoy your last sleep on the beds. Pack your bags at the night itself so that you won’t get late the next morning. Keep your leftovers in a closed bag at the hotel itself. You’ll get it back there only.
Max. Elevation of the day- Tainta Top/ Base camp (4,300 mts./ 14,140 ft.) Route Detail- After 30 mins. of the normal walk towards the waterfall you will reach the base of the waterfall from where the trail is very steep. It will take around 2 hours to reach the Tainta Top. Enjoy the bird eye view of the valley. After this, the trail to base camp is very gradual. You’ll reach the base camp in another 45 minutes. Enjoy the view of peaks like Jagatsukh, Norbu, and Malana. Overnight stay in the camps. Highlight of the day- The view from the tainta top. Accommodation- Tents (on twin sharing basis)
Today we’ll do the load distribution for the next day load ferry to camp 1. Have full rest as from the next day the expedition mode will be on. Rest and save energy for upcoming challenging days.
Max. Elevation of the day- Camp 1/ Duhangan Col Top (5,150 mts./ 16,900 ft.)Route Detail- Today is the load ferry day. We’ll hit Camp 1, dump some of our stuff and return to the base camp. The initial stretch of the day is a gradual ascent then an almost flat walk with very mild ascent till the base of Duhangan col. From this point, the main challenge starts. Duhangan col is a steep technical patch. You’ll have to use jumar on the fixed rope as well as your crampons to negotiate this section. Be very careful and listen to the instructions of your leader and guide. It will take around 2-3 hours to reach the top of Duhangan Col. Right at the top is Camp 1. Dump your load and descent back to the base camp. Pay the same amount of alertness while coming back also as most of the accidents happened during descent only. Highlight of the day- The Duhangan Col and the view from the camp Accommodation- Tents Remark- Be very careful while negotiating Duhangan Col
Max. Elevation of the day- Camp 1/ Duhangan Col Top (5,150 mts./ 16,900 ft. Route Detail- Today we’ll have to shift to camp 1. You can leave your extra stuff at the base camp. Carry only the essential items to the high camps. Follow the same route as of the previous day. Settle up the camp. Explore the surrounding. You’ll have a stunning view of the malana valley from the camp. Accommodation- Tents Remark- Keep a strict attention on your hydration and nutrition. Do not sleep in the afternoon or in the evening.
Max. Elevation of the day- Summit Camp (5,500 mts. / 18,045 ft.) Route Detail- Today again is the load ferry day. Start the day after breakfast. The route today is not challenging. You’ll reach the Summit Camp in 2-2.5 hours. Spend some time there so that your body gets acclimatized to that height dump the load and return back to Camp 1. Accommodation- Tents
Max. Elevation of the day- Summit Camp (5,500 mts. / 18,045 ft.) Route Detail- We’ll have to follow the same path as that of the previous day. Carry only the essential item that you’ll be needing for the summit. We’ll be pushing the summit today night only (if the weather allows). Have the early dinner and try to have the maximum rest as we’ll have to start very early for the summit push. Highlight of the day- View of valley on the opposite side. Accommodation- Tents Remark- Pack your summit bag at the night only and check the cells of your headlamp.
Max. Elevation of the day- The summit (6,001 mts./ 19,683 ft.) Route Detail- We’ll be starting the summit push around 3 am in the night. The initial part of the route is through the steep gulley which we have to negotiate with the help of fixed rope and jumar. This will take around 3 hours after this there comes a flat ground than the last patch till the summit we’ll have to be roped up. The summit is very wide and flat. Mt. Indraasan’s view from the summit is very prominent. Enjoy the summit has the group photo make a 360-degree video and return to camp 1 safely. Highlight of the day- The summit Accommodation- Tents Remark- Collect all your trash from the summit camp. Do not leave any trace behind.
Max. Elevation of the day- Wind up the camp. Collect all your trash and return back to the base camp. Rest, relax and have a better sleep at a low altitude. Accommodation- Tents
Route Detail- Retrace the same route till Khanol and drive back to your respective hotels. Have a blast at Manali as your summit celebrations. Highlight of the day- The civilization, the luxury of bed, shower and network. Accommodation- Tents

The best time for the Mt. Deo Tibba Expedition is during May to June and September to October, when the weather is most favorable, offering clear skies and ideal snow conditions for climbing.
The Mt. Deo Tibba Expedition is considered challenging and requires mountaineering experience. The trek includes steep ascents, glacier travel, technical climbing sections, and high-altitude conditions, making it suitable for experienced climbers.
Essential gear includes mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axe, harness, helmet, climbing rope, warm clothing (layers), sleeping bag for extreme cold, trekking poles, and a personal first aid kit.
The Mt. Deo Tibba Expedition typically takes 12-14 days, covering approximately 60-70 km, depending on the itinerary, acclimatization, and weather conditions.
Meals are generally provided by expedition organizers, and accommodation includes campsites along the route. Carrying high-energy snacks such as energy bars, dry fruits, and chocolates is recommended for added energy during the climb.

Had a wonderful experience with him.
He takes care of all the aspects and had every emergency item carried in his bag pack for all of us (group of 8) including candies too. We heard some of his adventurous stories about his previous treks which made us wanna trek again. Very rarely do we come across youngsters with utmost maturity, principles intact and true to their job. Rohit was all of that. If we do travel soon again, we would definitely contact him to be our leader again.
