Dayara Bugyal trek lies in the Garhwal Himalayas, Uttarkashi District. It is a perfect trek to start your Himalayan journey as it is not at very high altitude and the difficulty level also is easy as compared to another Himalayan trek, and if you talk about the beauty of this trek Dayara Bugyal is amongst the most beautiful alpine meadows of Uttarakhand. The slopes of this bugyal are ideal for skiing also. From the top of Dayara Bugyal, you can see mountains like Gangotri (I, II & III) Draupadi ka Danda (I & II), Srikanth, Rudugaira, Jaonli, Black peak, Bandarpunch, and many other unnamed peaks. Apart from the trek, this trip offers you to experience some serious adventure sport like rock craft and river craft and learn some very important life-skills also. These activities were challenging But at the same time fun also. During winters this trek offers you a huge amount of snow. You can make snowman, have a snow fight and other fun activities with the snow. You can also get to see local pahadi culture, lifestyle, and architecture.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 : Dehradun to Uttarkashi (1158m/3800ft) , Total Distance- 190 km, 7 hours approx.

Max. Elevation of the day – Uttarkashi (1158m/3800ft) Route Detail – Early morning reporting at Dehradun drive through Mussoorie , Dharasu , Chinyalisaur, and finally, reach Uttarkashi. A religious town situated at the bank of river Bhagirathi. Check into your respective hotels. We will have the Orientation and expectation setting of the program in the evening. Overnight stay in the hotels Highlight of the day – Gangotri mountain range enroute to Uttarkashi Accommodation – Hotel

Day 2 : Rock-Craft

Today we’ll spend our day with some serious adventure, and some interesting activities like Zip-Line, Rappelling, and Jumaring in one of the best training area of India i.e. Tekhla, Rock climbing area for NIM (Nehru Institute of Mountaineering) In the evening we’ll also conduct some informative sessions on various important topics like Backpacking, LNT, Mountains Manners, AMS, which will be very useful for you for the upcoming trek. You can pack your bag accordingly and left the remaining items at the base itself which you can collect on the last day of your return.

Day 3 : Uttarkashi to Barsu village to Barnala Taal (3001m/9844ft) , Total Distance- 42 km of road journey + 4 kms of trek, 6 hours approx.

Max. Elevation of the day – Barnala Taal (3001m/9844ft) Route Detail – Start the day early. After breakfast, cover 42 km of distance by car till Barsu Village then trek to Barnala taal. The gradient of the trail is gradual and landscaped beautifully with deodar forests, silver oak trees, and rhododendrons. Reach at the camp by late evening set up camps. Enjoy the evening in the lap of nature. Overnight stay in tents. Highlight of the day – View from the campsite Accommodation – Tents

Day 4 : Barnala Taal (3001m/9844ft) to Dayara Bugyal (3750m/12300 Ft) to Barnala Taal (3001m/9844ft) , Duration - 9-10 kms, 6 hours approx.

Max. Elevation of the day – Dayara Bugyal (3750m/12300 Ft) Route Detail – The route today is not very steep. You’ll enjoy the beauty of such a huge bugyal. Explore, enjoy, and click so many photos and return back to the same camp. Overnight stay in the camps. Highlight of the day – View from Dayara top. Accommodation – Tents Remark – In winter times the bugyal is covered with knee deep snow.

Day 5 : Barnala Taal (3001m/9844ft) to Uttarkashi (1158m/3800ft), Duration - Approx 60 kms

Max. Elevation of the day – Barnala Taal (3001m/9844ft) Route Detail – Start early in the morning and reach Barsu. Board into the vehicle for your next surprise and adventure. We’ll be going for River-craft in Assi Ganga. This will take away all your tiredness of the trek by taking a dip into the cold water and learning important skills of river-craft. After a refreshing session of the river-craft board into your respective and reach Uttarkashi. Spend the night with a closing ceremony, debriefing, and special dinner. Highlight of the day – River-Craft in Assi Ganga Accommodation – Hotel Remark – Don’t enter into the river without having proper footwears.

Day 6 : Drive back to Dehradun

Start your journey in the morning after breakfast and lunch on the way. You’ll be tracing back the same route from which you have come. Reach Dehradun by evening and return to your home by your respective means of transport with lots of sweet memories.
